Roblox Game Not Discoverable? Check These Visibility Settings

1. Confirm that the game is published

Publishing a game stores its start-place data model in the cloud. New games are Private by default.

In Roblox Studio, use File → Publish to Roblox to publish a game.

2. Check the Audience setting

In the Creator Dashboard, select the game and navigate to Configure → Settings. Under Audience, Roblox documents these options:

• Private: Available only to users with Edit permissions.
• Limited: Available only to a selected category, such as playtesters, the owner's friends, or community members. It is not discoverable to the general public.
• Public: Available and discoverable to the general public on Roblox.

Choose Public and save the change if the general public should be able to access and discover the game. Publishing to Public or Limited audiences is subject to Roblox's publishing requirements.

3. Check Beta Mode

For a Public game, enabling Beta Mode omits the game from Recommended for You. The game remains public but has more limited reach and exposure.

Disable Beta Mode and save the change if you want the game to be eligible for that recommendation category.

4. Review the metadata and content

Roblox warns that frequently repeating words or phrases in a game name may result in demotion. Repeating keywords or adding irrelevant keywords to a description may also result in demotion.

Roblox's discovery guidance recommends accurate metadata, original names and imagery, and distinct additions when following existing trends. Highly mismatched metadata and content are not recommended to users and are less visible in search. Games whose metadata and place files closely resemble existing games are no longer prioritized for recommendations and might rank lower in search.

5. Check for a quality and visibility banner

Games with reduced exposure display a Creator Dashboard banner that updates daily with the latest quality and visibility status. Roblox reclassifies content quality with every update, so align the game with its discovery best practices before submitting improvements.

If you encounter an issue with the displayed status, Roblox directs creators to open Support, select Bug Report, and provide the game's Universe ID and a description of the issue.

Diagnosis order

1. Publish the game from Studio if necessary.
2. Set Audience to Public and save the change.
3. Disable Beta Mode if inclusion in Recommended for You is desired.
4. Remove repeated or irrelevant metadata and ensure the presentation accurately reflects the game.
5. Check the Creator Dashboard for a quality and visibility banner.
6. Submit a Bug Report with the Universe ID if the displayed status appears incorrect.
